Get to Know Series: Matt Abbiss
We took the opportunity to catch up with Matt - our popular lawn technician based near Wolverhampton to learn a bit more about him, and what he loves about our lawn treatment services and our customers!
Matt looks after the customers in the west flank of our coverage area to include Wolverhampton, Stafford, Cannock and Walsall areas along with Sutton Coldfield from time to time.
What is your favourite lawn treatment cycle?
Treatment 3 is my favourite as we see massive differences when returning from customers following the late-spring semi-organic fertiliser and weed control visit. I love going back to both new lawns and those of our long standing customers and seeing how much the lawn has improved. With warmer temperatures this can really fast-forward results through the spring and summer months.
It gives me so much job satisfaction seeing the improvement to lawns and how happy customers are off the back of these lawn treatment visits.
Best customer treat...?
My favourite work treat is without a doubt a chocolate digestive. I don't think you can beat having a nice dunk in a warm cup of coffee. Although I am prone to a mince pie around Christmas time!

What is your van music taste like?
I'm a huge fan of old school R'n'B so I tend to flick between Kiss Radio and Kisstory RnB (I've never heard of it!). I'm always having a sing song between jobs and on my commute to work. I also love Talksport but I can only tolerate it until 1pm!
What are the benefits of having a lawn renovation?
Rennos are unmatched in my opinion. It gives us the chance to really strip a lawn back to the bare bones, start from scratch and this makes a huge difference. It's an opportunity to correct underlying issues and really make our mark.
The treatments following renovation work are key. Renovation results can take time, but the nutrition from the following visits really bring the new grasses along well... and are all the more effective after we've taken out the moss and thatch that was damaging the lawn!

What are your favourite lawn care machines to use?
Eliet scarifier. Goes without saying I love the newest member of our scarifying fleet. Self-propelled, easy to use and amazing results!
