Kingsbury Lawn Care Celebrates 10 Years with Award Win and Continued Growth

Kingsbury Lawn Care is celebrating a major milestone after marking its 10th anniversary with another prestigious business award win and continued expansion across the West Midlands.

The award-winning lawn care specialists were recently named Micro Business of the Year (West Midlands) at the FSB/HSBC Small Business Growth Awards — the second time the company has received the accolade after first winning in 2022.

For founder Jack Chapman, the recognition represents a proud moment in a business journey that started with little more than two second-hand vans and a passion for lawn care.

From Childhood Side Hustle to Thriving West Midlands Business

What began as mowing lawns for pocket money has evolved into one of the region’s leading independent lawn care companies. Today, Kingsbury Lawn Care employs a growing team of nine, including five full-time lawn technicians, serving around 1,400 customers across the West Midlands.

Speaking about the achievement, Jack said:

“We were fortunate to win this award back in 2022, so to be recognised again is a real milestone – and something I don’t take for granted.
“In 2016, this business was just two second-hand vans cutting lawns. Since then, it’s grown into a team, a fleet, and something we’ve worked hard to build the right way.”
The award was announced during the regional ceremony on 23 April and recognises small businesses demonstrating exceptional growth, service quality and impact within their sector.

National Finals at The Savoy Await

Following the regional win, Kingsbury Lawn Care will now represent the West Midlands at the national final of the Small Business Growth Awards at The Savoy Hotel in London on 4 June.

The company will compete against other regional winners from across the UK, with the overall winner receiving a mentoring session with former Dragon’s Den investor Sara Davies. Jack added:

“The response from our customers has been incredible. The messages we’ve received have been about the whole team – I just get the honour of captaining the ship.”

Continued Investment Fuels Business Growth

The award comes during a significant period of growth for Kingsbury Lawn Care. The company has recently:

  • Expanded its workforce, with further recruitment planned
  • Moved into its first dedicated office premises in Grendon
  • Invested £20,000 in new machinery
  • Introduced industry-leading customer software
  • Increased technical and leadership training for staff
The new customer software allows homeowners to create personal accounts where they can book appointments, make payments and access lawn treatment plans online.

Meanwhile, the investment in staff development has included technical training, leadership coaching and first aid qualifications.

“In a niche industry, lawn technicians don’t arrive ready-made and we’ve worked hard to train from the ground up and improve our leadership capabilities,” said Jack.

Record Growth Despite Economic Challenges

The company’s focus on customer service and team development has already delivered impressive results. Kingsbury Lawn Care achieved a record autumn lawn renovation season in 2025, alongside a 27% increase in annual revenue.

Over the last three years, the business has more than doubled in size and now plans to expand further into neighbouring regions. With spring underway and momentum continuing to build, the future looks bright for the award-winning lawn care specialists.

“We’re all really excited going into the busy spring season,” Jack said.

“It feels as though everything’s coming together for a great 10-year anniversary. I’m looking forward to seeing how far we can go from here.”

Thank you for your continued support.
